Lawrence Ghorra On 'Dreams on Hold', her first full length album, Sarah crafts her life's journey into beautiful, sassy, surprisingly catchy songs that are in turns moving, playful and raw.

Each song earns its place here. and she covers a lot of ground musically, with the help of a troupe of excellent backing musicians that expand her musical palette and textures.

From the country folk of 'The Bridge Song’  with a timely reminder that we have the power to unify rather that divide... if we choose;  to the vaudevillian / stride piano jazz of 'Shadow'  that deals with the darker side of human nature in an (ironically) playful way.; Sarah takes on the big themes in a very personal, intimate way.

The upbeat 'Cry, Cry, Cry' has shades of R&B Motown and Carol King whilst 'Dreams on Hold’, a song of personal sacrifice and determination, has a more rootsy folk feel, but whatever the style, the melodies and harmonies stir strong emotions.

Through it all, the well crafted songs, Sarah's piano, and soulful vocals weave a magical album that will get your toes a-tappin' and your heart a-soaring!

So don’t put your 'dreams on hold' - get it now! Favorite track: Dreams On Hold.

Big Mover 03:20
CHORUS: Hey Big Mover Leaving us all behind You know that I’m a big believer That you’ll find what you need to find Hey Big Dreamer You’re one of a kind Once you break, shake and make things Please think of me time to time VERSE 1: Every little sign points to How you’ll leave me, dear It’s just a matter of time and Soon you’ll be kicking up dirt Cause you’re going so fast You’re always “gonna, wanna, gotta get there first!” Take it from me, girl, this time won’t last CHORUS VERSE 2: Every stone you throw leaves a ripple and Every ripple grows into something bigger Soon you’ll be making big waves, you’ll be making big waves I know that nothing’s ever gonna to get in your way and Take it from me, girl, you’re on your way -- Instrumental Break -- CHORUS OUTRO: Think of me time to time Think of me time to time I hope you think of me time to time
2.
VERSE 1: Mama and daddy told me It takes many kinds Most are different from me Living on the other side The world is getting smaller But we’re still far part I know how to make a difference I know a good place to start CHORUS: I’m gonna be a bridge A big wide-open bridge You can walk upon me No matter which side you live I’m gonna be a bridge A big wide-open bridge Everybody is welcome here No matter which side you live CHORUS VERSE 2: There are many kinds of bridges I wonder which kind I’ll be A covered bridge in the countryside Or a big steel bridge in the city The kind that lights up at night The kind that sparkles in the daylight Or maybe in the mountains way up high I wonder which kind I’ll be! CHORUS -- Instrumental Break -- VERSE 3: If you want to be a bridge too Any kind of bridge will do Wide or narrow, Big or small There’s a place for you Maybe not the kind that has a troll And maybe not the kind where you pay a toll But really any kind of bridge at all There’s a place for you CHORUS X2

Journey Song 04:04
VERSE 1: You carved out a path little more than a scratch The only thing defined was the destination Like tracks on dry sand, whispers in the wind I can’t help but feel there's one too many degrees of separation CHORUS 1: How can I get to you What more can I do to get to you How can I make it through Make it through to you, make it through to you, make it through to you VERSE 2: We plant our seeds one at a time with our hearts and with our minds But we can only wait for the rain and the sunshine There will always be things we can’t control in this life Still we gotta try We gotta try CHORUS 1 -- Instrumental Break -- VERSE 3: I’ll keep walking down your path Even though I have to keep backtracking I know I’ll make it to my destination With every step I take The tracks that my feet make Will only make it easier for the next generation CHORUS 2: I’m gonna get to you I’m gonna make it through and get to you Yes I’m gonna make it through Make it through to you And until I do I’ll keep asking myself CHORUS 1
4.
Little O 04:14
CHORUS: Hey, Little O, I know what you’ve been feeling How your heart's been reeling Oh, your daddy told me so Little O, I feel your heart’s anticipation How you have been here waiting for my return My return VERSE 1: When storm clouds gather and the waves are wild You know that I would rather be with you, my sweet child And crossing this dark ocean makes it hard to reconcile My true devotion has been you all the while You all the while CHORUS VERSE 2: When the road I travel is on the decline I cannot help but think how I left you and your brother behind And it’s hard to say if it’s been worth all this time But it’s hard to stay when you have a mountain to climb I have a mountain to climb Oh my mountain, are you worth all this time? Oh my mountain, are you worth all this time? CHORUS -- Instrumental Break -- CHORUS OUTRO: Patiently waiting for my return I will return
5.
VERSE 1: If I had a talk with my younger self My current existence would be tough to explain She would want to know what went wrong It’s been nearly 30 years She’d shake her fists and say “I thought by now I’d be a rolling stone, I thought by now I would be well on my way!” This little girl cannot sympathize when I tell her Childhood ambitions have to wait CHORUS: Oh I was once afraid to have this fate But now I confidently say I’ll put my dreams on hold for you I’m still believing and I’m still a scheming Good things come to those who wait So for now I’ll put my dreams on hold for you VERSE 2: Sometimes I’m awake late at night Thinking about what might have been “What if I had gone to L.A.?” Before long my head is spinning Success, Recognition, Fortune and Fame They’re still calling out my name They’re still calling out my name And everything I want is the same It’s just one thing that has changed CHORUS -- Instrumental Break -- CHORUS X2
6.
Shadow 03:27
CHORUS: I can’t shake you my shadow No I can’t shake you You’re following me everywhere And seeing every little thing I do I can’t shake you my shadow No I can’t shake you You’re keeping me on my toes And making me follow through VERSE 1: Darling you’re inclined to be just one step behind me Never minding my pleas to turn the other way Oh I don’t you to see the rougher parts of me I don’t want to have to worry about what’s on display CHORUS VERSE 2: My tiny silhouette You won’t let me forget the ways I affect you You mimic my flaws Seeing the things about myself I detest is getting hard to digest And got me feeling depressed CHORUS -- Instrumental Break -- CHORUS X 2 OUTRO: You’re following me everywhere and seeing every little thing I do Keeping me on my toes and you’re making me follow through
7.
Cry Cry Cry 03:48
VERSE 1: I’m sitting here holding my breath I don’t know how I got in this mess I don’t know what’s gotten you upset But I’m feeling worn out I used up all my apologies I tried tough love and sympathy Still I don’t know what you want from me I need a time-out because CHORUS: It doesn’t matter how hard try I’m still left feeling like the bad guy I cannot seem to do anything right You just cry, cry, cry VERSE 2: I’d stop the tears if only I could These good intentions don’t do what they should The waters rising and it don’t look good Won’t someone please help me out I asked the doctor and I asked the scribe I got down on my knees, I asked the Divine I said, “Lord, won’t you please show me a sign?! I am about to lose my mind!”, yeah CHORUS BRIDGE: But when you smile I feel at ease Getting high on your laugh sounds so sweet to me And in that moment I think, “Everything’s going to be alright.” Give it one more moment… and you cry You just keep crying, baby At this point I don’t think you’ll ever stop You’re ever gonna stop, you’re never gonna stop, never gonna stop CHORUS OUTRO: It doesn’t matter how hard I try There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight Just when I think that your tears have run dry you cry And I cry when you cry Hey, yeah!

VERSE 1 Everyday is a battle to quiet my mind The constant struggle With things that take time Comparing to those who seem to be On the summit of their life It’s hard to find peace in the climb But when I think of you I start to understand What I don’t overcome Will play out once again CHORUS 1 And I want you to be patient with yourself I’ll give you all the patience I can give Still there’s one more thing that I can do To help see you through Today I’ll be patient with myself VERSE 2 There has been a time or twenty When I was less than kind Just ordinary moments That lay heavy on my mind Small burdens I carry That weigh more overtime No deed will ever satisfy And when I think of you I somehow realize What I don’t learn to do Will play out in your life CHORUS 2 And I want you to forgive yourself I’ll forgive you and I’ll try to understand Still there’s one more thing that I can do To help see you through Today I’ll forgive myself -- Instrumental Break -- VERSE 3 The older I get the more I start to see The ways in which I am measured By my society My body, my mind and heart I criticize My value I sometimes deny But when I think of you I start to understand What I don’t overcome Will play out once again And when I think of you I somehow realize What I don’t learn to do Will play out in your life CHORUS 3 And I want you to love yourself I’ll give you all the love I have to give Still there’s one more thing that I can do To help see you through Today I will love myself I said, today I will love myself
